Bran Castle was built by the Saxons in 1377 in Transylvania, Romania - and while it didn’t directly inspire Bram Stoker’s 1897 Gothic masterpiece, Dracula, its brooding silhouette and remote mountain setting influenced people to call it Dracula’s Castle
