For football-related reasons I find myself on the @hulldailymail.co.uk website a lot. It’s very revealing of how weirdly misleading our national debate on crime is

This horrible piece demonstrates a difference in the way Reform-style white nationalism plays out in Scotland - the right can’t simply invoke the integrity and vulnerability of the white population because they already view part of that population as ‘internal others’. archive.is/2025.12.03-1...

A defiant Pete Hegseth lashed out at his critics on Thursday. “I get knocked down, but I get up again,” he said. “You're never gonna keep me down.” Revealing the secret to his resilience, Hegseth said, “I drink a whiskey drink, I drink a vodka drink, I drink a lager drink, I drink a cider drink.”

The Cass Review is the worst kind of pseudoscience & has at least 13 peer-reviewed critiques of it (all ignored by mainstream media).

Streeting now wants a Cass Review for Autism, ADHD, etc.

I have characterised these as “contrived authority” strategies (referring to the work of Max Weber)

Considering Streeting's well stated belief autism, ADHD etc, along with mental health issues, are "overdiagnosed", I won't hold my breath for this doing anything other than being used to cut support, along with opportunities for diagnosis, for people who need it. #r4today

My latest blog piece, just days after the Scottish Languages Act comes into force, Farage attacks Glasgow school kids in order to scaremonger about immigration. A new low even by his disgusting standards.

Farage’s contemptible attack on Glesca weans
Nigel Farage has been a racist bully again. But don’t worry, he’s only doing it indirectly and without intent to offend or insult. So that’s OK then. Just days after the Scottish …

I mean it’s not like the entire world won’t want Green Hydrogen in the future 🙈

It’s obviously much “safer” if Scotland doesn’t have the “complicated problem” of selling its own fuels 🤷‍♀️

It’s depressing seeing this all happening again, said it would happen & now it is

Off to cry in a corner..

That MSPs are now openly saying stuff like this is chilling. "Controversial groups like LGBT Youth Scotland"? LGBTYS didn't need to be in my schools for me to be gay, but they sure as hell would have helped me avoid 9 years of fear and self-loathing if they had been. Despicable stuff.

Senator Kelly is correct.

Plus a Public Service Announcement:

KEY section of Department of Defense's Law of War Manual is 18.3.2.1.

The VERY rule on the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders gives as its paradigmatic example of what is "clearly illegal:
"orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

Two things stand out about this picture:

1. a political leader embracing rather than demonising asylum seekers;

2. the beautiful clothes the Afghan girls are wearing, and which they are free to show in public.
It’s not where we come from that counts, it’s about where we’re going.

Great to meet Afghan Scots children at Maryhill Burgh Halls and hear a lovely rendition of Robert Burns.
