Maybe not great, but a vast improvement over the last several years.
And then...the 83 win St. Louis Cardinals
SoCal
Michigan State
Miami
Also, the "pay labor" comment wouldn't make any sense for DII, DIII or NAIA as the revenue sharing decision does not apply to those levels. FCS maybe, but mostly applies to FBS
No context prior to what was shared, but I was looking at the icons and made the leap to assume that was Ohio State and Notre Dame. Apologies if that was too much of an assumption. Also the Yanks have mostly dominated all other divisions of college football recently outside of FBS so seemed obvious.
Oh, I get it. So other than FBS football, which seems to be what the post is talking about.
What am I missing here? Georgia counts as southern, doesn't it?
Provel is an abomination, but Toasted Ravs is a work of genius.
Yes it was what? The bag man? To be clear, that is what Eric Dickerson (or Reggie Bush for a more recent example) got, not the run of the mill doner. Sorry if I wasn't clear, it is maybe not as common a phrase as I thought.
I get the concern, but seems overblown. Revenue sharing puts a cap on what can be paid directly to the athletes (the bag man will be back, but that was never money going to fund schools). I would be more worried about the funding from the federal government being slashed, not college sports.
It is the 2nd most popular sport in the US (FBS football), they make billions of dollars every year and just got revenue sharing. Why is it not sustainable? Honest question.
The first step would be to take it off TV, but we know that isn't going to happen. So as long as it is a multi-billion dollar industry, I don't think it's the worst thing in the world for the labor to take part in the profit.
I believe TT has set the standard with 55 million of revenue sharing and NIL combined across all their athletic programs. So nowhere near professional levels at this point.
Just like other entertainment industries the talent should be paid a reasonable share of what they produce. TT football will generate 10s of millions of dollars year in and year out. Unfortunately that is not the case for nurses and teachers. Maybe we are "out of wack" but it isn't this kids fault
I know this wasn't the point of this, but goodness, Stan Musial is underrated.
As a Notre Dame/Bears fan, this only reinforces my bias
4th in yards, 2nd in TDs, 10th in yards per attempt, 5th in QB rating and 1st in completion percentage (at least you got one right)
Mark that as a win for MBGs. Also, Go Redbirds!!
The southern mind can not comprehend spring anticipation.
