A Nor’n Irishman lost in London.
Ex evangelical.
Meet me at 56th and Wabasha
It’s also not the way that any BBC political correspondents behaved during the all the chaos of the last Tory Government.
Can you imagine such a statement being released by the BBC when Boris was at the helm?
No that's not *your* on *our behalf*. Your job is to report the story, presenting all sides fairly and then *we* call it. What Mason is saying here is fundamentally not what the bbc is for!

I'm really glad to see someone like Kelly finally saying this. bsky.app/profile/atru...
Mark Kelly: "This president, when he says things like 'third world countries,' what is he really saying? I think what he's saying is he doesn't want brown people in our country. And that's disturbing. It's un-American."

This is madness.

All books by Normal People and Conversations with Friends author Sally Rooney set to be withdrawn from sale.

The 34-year-old Irish author says: “The disappearance of my work from bookshops would mark a truly extreme incursion by the state into the realm of artistic expression.”
Sally Rooney books may be withdrawn from UK sale over Palestine Action ban, court told
Rooney has said she intended to use royalties from her work "to go on supporting Palestine Action."

Here's a bombshell in the budget:

Billions of unbudgeted commitments that the government is going to need to fund:

£6bn SEND
NHS pharma costs up due to US trade deal
£1.1bn if asylum plan doesn't work
£0.6 ID cards
£32 bn defence increase (not all needed in next few years)
Here be dragons.

Beth Rigby spotted that the OBR accidentally published their Budget papers too soon. It's down now, but I've archived a copy: buff.ly/SfFAiCu

Well, this is pretty terrifying. The Daily Mail is buying the Telegraph.

One massive consolidated right-wing media empire controlled by off-shore interests at a critical moment in global politics.

What could go wrong?

Was a true pleasure to go to Nottingham to interview Ken Clarke, truly the archetypal big political beast.

In an extended conversation, we talk about Reeves nightmare Budget, his long political journey and his fears for where politics might go next.
