At the time of George III it was Great Britain & Ireland, then the UK, not England.

A spokeswoman for Ocean Infinity told me that the company had "no information to provide at this stage". There hasn't been an announcement from the Malaysian government as yet. The indications I have is that Ocean Infinity and the government have signed remotely and separately.

They are now NE of the Blelly/Marchand area.

Perhaps not your favourite content creator, but FYI here's his latest MH370 offering:

The contract with Ocean Infinity is still not closed out. The company's search vessel meanwhile is already in the search area in the Southern Indian Ocean.

MH370: Will the Search Finally Resume?
It is now 11 years since MH370 vanished. The search for the plane is expected to resume. But, contracting delays could jeopardise the effort and feed frustration.

I watch Thomas & Godfrey so you don't have to Jeff!

Just to give you a heads up that they were talking about you on their latest video.

And they're still talking about that Emirates plane.

Please blank the above from your brain if required:)

Mmm ... destination of 78 06 is set to CAPETOWN.

Hopefully, we'll have more details soon.

I see the departure time has been updated to 14:00 on 8 March, unfortunately.

@jeffwise.bsky.social Thomas & Godfrey on YT talk about Emirates flight EK407 (pilot was a Martin Smith), from Melbourne to Dubai, encountering a plane with its transponder switched off over the Indian Ocean, thus confirming that MH370 was going south, and on the WSPR track identified by Godfrey.

I've dropped you an email regarding the Seabed Constrictor making trips to Freemantle in 2018.

@jeffwise.bsky.social I know that a certain Gulf has changed name on Google Maps for users in the US.

Just to let you know that in the UK it has changed to "Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)".

You've just got to love Trump & Musk - not!

@jeffwise.bsky.social Morning Jeff. I know you've left Twitter, but if you're happy to use Facebook, Kevin Rupp's (and Jay Lowe's probably) updates are also posted there. They're also tracking the weather systems in the area.

@jeffwise.bsky.social I've given all the updates from Kevin Rupp on the substack app.

You had been asking about what the destination was when OI left Durban in 2018. I await his reply

I realise that everything Kevin says cannot be taken as gospel, but he seems very reliable.

@jeffwise.bsky.social 78-06 left 10 mins ago with dedication "Offshore, Mauritius". Could this be the start of the search?!
February 8, 2025 at 2:02 PM
@jeffwise.bsky.social This will unlikely be anything new for you, but I'll send it anyway ...
February 8, 2025 at 5:52 AM
@jeffwise.bsky.social Don't know if I've already sent this, but I see 78-08 is on its way to Cape Town now, so that's that vessel 100% ruled out of the search then.

I'm looking forward to 78-06 getting fuelled up and heading off to the SIO, whilst negotiating these various cyclones ...

@jeffwise.bsky.social Update from Kevin Rupp: We know 7806 had 2 containerized AUVs and used them off of Taiwan. We also know 7808 picked up another containerized AUV at Mossel Bay, east of Cape Town. Also, 7808's AIS Destination was changed to Cape Town today.
February 7, 2025 at 2:08 AM
@jeffwise.bsky.social 7806 & 7808 are no longer docked next to each other, but of course 7808 may well have given equipment & supplies to 7806 ... and 7808 will head to Cape Town (on Saturday perhaps).
February 7, 2025 at 1:11 AM
@jeffwise.bsky.social Apparently both 7806 & 7808 are still docked in Port Louis, and Kevin (Rupp) says that 7806 is thought to be the ship to carry out the search.
