Musk and X are a threat to British democracy. Anyone still on X who thinks right-wing issues are uppermost in everyone's minds in the UK...that's because Musk WANTS you to believe it. It's not reality.

About right, I'd say.
Wrote this about flags and patriotism in 2021 (in The Decade In Tory). Stand by every word now.

"He may, in fact, be the most dangerous person in the Trump administration."

One man should not be allowed to put the lives of millions at risk, simply at the whim of his own personal opinion.

Have you tanked your economy?

Was your birthday parade an embarrassment?

Did the richest man in the world allude to you being a nonce?

Did you lose your bid to challenge a sexual abuse & defamation lawsuit?

If so, you need WAR!

It makes me so sad that this is true. We didn't vote Labour just because we were sick of the Tories. We wanted positive change to benefit us ALL. A beacon of hope, even - proof that an inclusive society CAN thrive and prosper.

Not more of the same hatred and lies that many of us have never wanted.
Perhaps the incalculable damage from Starmer's speech is to reveal Labour policies as the metaphorical strangers on this island @mrjamesob.bsky.social

WFA cuts, disability cuts, watering down net zero, NHS cuts, appeasing Trump, Gaza, hampering growth outside EU CU - Labour now a massive let down

Exactly this. We were all hoping for a positive change, not more of the same tired, outdated view of the world and our place in it.
Labour is handing this country on a silver platter to Reform. People do not vote Labour because they hate immigrants and want Reform-lite. They vote Labour because they want it to make a positive difference to their lives.

We need a democratic voice like this in the UK, rather than a Labour party that panders to the right.

Be clear about what Trump and Musk’s aid axe will do: people will face terror and starve, many will die | Gordon Brown
The decimation of USAid is already having a terrible effect in some of the poorest places on the planet. It damages America: it will harm us all, says Gordon Brown, the UN’s special envoy for global…
