They say you can't go home again. 33 years ago I left my home in Germany for Texas. Today I got to revisit my old house and school as an adult for the first time by myself. The buildings and memories still exist. But it's different somehow. I can best describe today as surreal.

I really enjoy traveling with Deutsche Bahn. I had a 15 minute delay which resulted in a misconnect. I managed to turn that 15 minute delay into a 2 hour EARLY arrival. Now I can enjoy my ICE chili con carne and glass Coke while watching the world fly by at 300 km/h.

Toronto was a nice city to visit. We stayed at the Radisson on the harbour front, walked around downtown and even saw a GO Transit F59 in good light.

After 5 days and 4 nights, we finally made it to Toronto. It was an enjoyable 100 hours on the train but it will be nice to sleep in a bed that doesn't move tonight.

Good morning from beautiful western Ontario! The train is only 7 hours late, but on the bright side, we get to see parts of Canada we normally wouldn't. Cell service is virtually non existent out here which is a nice chance of pace.

I'm now sitting in a 28 year old 767-380 heading to Reykjavik. She started life working for Air New Zealand and now calls Iceland home. While everything looks a bit long in the tooth, I'm sure she'll do a fine job getting me safely to KEF.
