There is much more to the “cave” than people want to acknowledge. Trump lost something too. I don’t judge anyone who is angry. Anger can be constructive. But it’s important not to react out of anger. Whatever you and your conscience decide to do, make the decision with a cool head.

You want Democrats to have “leverage” in Congress? Make them the majority party in Congress. Don’t fuck off general elections and piss away that “leverage” by telling people to stay home or vote third party. A lot of you have not learned this yet. Grow the fuck up.

This is literally conspiratorial thinking. It is literally fundamentally how qAnon became a thing.

Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.

Fighting for the ACA was a smart hook. And the gambit was that Dems would win big on Tuesday and some GOP senators would fold. Dems won big and no GOP Senators folded. The House will not vote to maintain the tax credits. Time now to fight for free and fair elections in 2026.

Agree with this 1000%. The GOP will not vote to extend ACA tax credits. They have said so. There is NOTHING more for the Dems to get from a further shutdown. And reopening the govt will make the Speaker fish or cut bait on reopening the House. The GOP actually has much to lose from reopening.
