These rationalizations about the Democratic cave on the shutdown really piss me off.

We are the richest country literally in the history of the world, and we won’t feed our people or provide them healthcare.

That is a massive failure. Absolutely massive.

Sometimes I think of the changes I’ve seen during my life, just to amuse myself. Then I realize that compared to my grandmother—born in the horse-and-buggy era, living through WWI, the Depression, WWII, the bombing of Hiroshima, Vietnam, the Moon landing, & the invention of the Mac & PC—I’m a piker.

Audible must have gotten a ton of complaints about the most recent update, cuz when I installed the newest version, it was actually the old version, pre-interface update. Doesn’t *anyone* do UX testing any more?

Side note: Deeply tired of companies making interface changes for the sake of change.

For, what, nearly 10 years now, Sanders supporters have been denigrated, marginalized by the Dem establishment, and given insulting, dismissive nicknames like, “Bernie Bros”.

And now even this guy says @sanders.senate.gov was right. File this under “D” for “Duh!”
November 11, 2025 at 6:19 PM
@schumer.senate.gov Way to go, 🍆head.
Tucked into a spending bill that is part of the deal to end the government shutdown is a provision that would allow GOP senators to personally sue the federal government for as much as $500K over Special Counsel Jack Smith’s lawful search of their phone records.

@schumer.senate.gov is not just a worthless piece of 💩, he’s actively screwing us over. He schemed to make sure that the Dem Senators who voted for this travesty were ones with no elections next year. That *none* of them ate running in 2026 is NOT a coincidence.

He’s got to go.

@andizeisler.bsky.social This made me actually laugh out loud. I imagined it accompanied by a harpsichord.

Poor Things *is on Disney+*. I mean, it’s GOT to be edited, right? They can’t show all the “furious jumping” *on Disney+*, can they?

Quite aside from evil fascists trying to take over my country, this reality has just become too weird. Can I please move to Earth-828?
November 11, 2025 at 1:17 AM
Every single article about this should lead off with the list of Senators who voted for this. Trumpet their names. Flood their phone lines with calls. Camp out at their offices.

This reminds me of Robert Davi’s comment to his puppet dictator in the James Bond film License to Kill. (Robert Davi was so good at sounding menacing.)

I had to quote-post myself because @bsky.app doesn’t allow you to have article previews and images on the same post. 🙄

Was watching a reaction video to ELO’s “Telephone Line” the other day, and the GenZ listener could neither recognize the dial tone sound at the beginning of the song, nor say what it was called. And lord did I feel old.

Words cannot even express my disgust with the Senate Democratic caucus. They are wildly unpopular. The recent elections showed what the people actually want. The Republicans are offering them *nothing*. What the F**K do they think they’re doing?

I have distrusted Booker since he defended venture capitalists *during the 2012 election cycle*. I knew then that he was a two-faced piece of 💩 who was all talk and no action. His filibuster didn’t fool me for a f**king second.

And Ossoff is clearly the second coming of Joe Manchin.

@nealstephenson.bsky.social wrote this in 1994 and it’s even more true now IMO. Bezos and Musk and all the rest have just done better at piling up government money and using government services, systems, and largesse than us, as @warren.senate.gov has often pointed out.

@jasonkylehoward.bsky.social One reason “it’s fashionable now to criticize Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi” is her long-standing disdain for and active suppression of her progressive base. Her recent efforts to keep AOC out of leadership is a perfect example. tinyurl.com/3tmn7yp3
Nancy Pelosi knew her power. Why don’t Democrats?
Pelosi gave Hakeem Jeffries and Democrats a masterclass in using power. They weren’t listening

Watched Fantastic Four: First Steps last night and I genuinely loved it. I can understand why some people do don’t; it really is like watching one of your favorite comic books brought to life. But I love comic books, spent an inordinate amount of time reading them growing up, & loved the film.

I have about had it with comfortable, rich, entitled assholes telling people who struggle to pay their bills how to spend their money. Absolutely had it.

Never ever ever ever forget that “conservative intellectuals” like @billkristolbulwark.bsky.social helped contribute to the goddamn mess we are in. Never.
“The current state of American capitalism isn’t sustainable. It doesn’t deserve to be sustained. And the best way to avoid an American version of “eat the rich” is to fix the current “let them eat cake” distortion of capitalism into which we’ve fallen.”

I am an introvert and probably on the autism spectrum. One reason I hate going to Walmart is I just want to get my stuff; I don’t want someone “greeting” me when I walk in. And I *definitely* don’t want someone waving at me and making eye contact.

Not that I needed more reasons to avoid Target.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

No, you dumbass piece of software, I did *not* “log in to a new device”; I just upgraded the OS / updated the app / cleared my browser cache. Figure it out.

And these dorks think their software is “AI”. They can’t even get iOS apps to save state consistently. Jeebus.

A joke.

All empires end. All of them. Egypt; Greece; Spain; Portugal; England; Rome; they all end and then someone else ascends. It’s an historic inevitability.

My entire life, I’ve watched our decline. It started with Nixon & has only gotten worse. We’re done. Now we must pick up the pieces.
It is a horrifying and incredibly sad article.
Who have we become?
