Updated list of my teams! The only sport I really pay much attention to is hockey, but I picked teams for other sports so I can compete against my siblings who actually are into sports other than hockey. Here are all my flight-enabled teams! 💚🏒⚾⚽🏀🏈💚

OK now for veterans who I don't have pictures for readily at hand. Mathias Thinnes, my great-great grandpa was in the US Marines. Peter Nolan, my great-great grandpa was in the US Army and was about to be shipped off in WWI but the war ended. We still have his uniform.

This is my great-great-great grandpa. He immigrated to the US in 1843 with his infant son after having served in the Prussian military. When the American Civil started, his eldest son was 17 so he lied about his age to join the 13th Inf. Co. G to fight instead. I put his story in the alt text
Joseph Ringswald, my fucking hero. He was in the army in Baden. His first wife and one of their two daughters died of illness. He remarried and had a son in January 1843. They moved to the United States in June 1843. When his son was 17, the American Civil War started so Joseph lied about his age to join up, most likely so Simon wouldn't be drafted and had to stay home to run the farm. He was in the army from 1861 until 1863 when he lost an arm during a battle. He lived for many years after that and returned to the farm. Dude was a BADASS

This is Grandpa. He was a soldier in WWII in the Pacific until he got TB. He received: American Defense Ribbon, American Theater Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. He was a quiet man, and I miss him.

He contracted tuberculosis during the Pacific campaign of WWII and was hospitalized at the Fitzsimmons General Hospital before being returned to the United States Here's my Grandpa in the Fitzsimmons General Hospital after contracting tuberculosis in the Pacific Arena of World War II. He's in bed with blankets pulled up over his legs and talking to a man on crutches with a weird tie and a white hat

Celebrating Veterans' Day thinking about the many, many, many veterans in my family. Here's my dad, who was in the Army and who worked as a civilian mechanical engineer for the Navy for forty years. I miss him so much. My mom is with him in these pics, and I miss her too.

On this day in 1963, Gordie Howe scored his 545th career goal, breaking the record set by Maurice Richard. Howe finished his career with a record 801 goals. That record was broken by Wayne Gretzky on March 23, 1994. Howe now sits third all-time behind Ovechkin and Gretzky.
