Beneath a deep blue desert sky with streaky white clouds we are standing atop a cracked and fractured pinkish violet rock looking down several hundred feet into a landscape of narrow shallow canyons and rock formations below. There are striations of color throughout: chalky white, blue gray, pinkish violet, brown. A scattering of olive green shrubs are the only signs of life in an otherwise barren scene.

A pair of interacting spiral galaxies. The galaxy in the center appears face-on with a bright yellow center, surrounded by swirls of brown dust filaments. The outer areas of the galaxy are filled with a haze of pale yellow stars. Above and slightly to the right is its companion galaxy. The disk of this galaxy is seen at an angle, tilted so that it appears to be an oval rather than a circle. Dark brown dust filaments somewhat obscure the spiral structures in its disk, which is filled with blue star clusters and pink star forming regions. At the left edge of this galaxy, the end of a spiral arm or a tidal tail appears to extend downwards, connecting to the top of its companion. At the right edge of the central galaxy is what appears to be a faint tidal tail, dotted with blue star clusters, perhaps a continuation of the tail from the companion galaxy. The black background of space is dotted with foreground stars and tiny background galaxies.

Silurian felsic volcaniclastics, or if you prefer nice sea-worn bedrock, eastern Tasmania. Some of the most colourful lichen I've ever seen - this stuff is vivid. Can see it along much of NE Tasmania above high tide notably on the aptly-named Bay of Fires that we didn't get to but this will do ⚒️🧪

Took my #Dwarf3 to Breckenridge for Thanksgiving and tried imaging M31 in the freezing cold.

185 subs later, I think the Andromeda shot turned out awesome. Shout out to @naztronomy.com and his amazing Siril script for smart telescopes.

A large brown wolf spider faces to the right. On her abdomen there is a series of both black and light, almost yellow dots. There is also an almost yellow stripe going down the center of her cephalothorax, starting at her eyes where it is the brightest.
