Why we should invest in education and how to measure the return
We think of education as an investment because when you invest in more education, you gain skills that are valuable in the labour market.

So there’s one aspect of the BBC story that has received zero attention: Robbie Gibb’s potential financial conflict of interests.

According to @arusbridger.bsky.social, he was just the bagman for the purchase of the Jewish Chronicle.

Got turned down on a piece about ICE in Chicago for an international news org because they believed I couldn’t be objective about my neighbors getting kidnapped. And well, guilty as charged I guess.

One horrific thing to me is that the president- a man who has gotten away with everything including literal murder up to this point- seems extremely nervous about anything regarding Epstein coming out. Like how bad does it have to be

My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

What I like about the Mick Jagger Slow Horses song is that it's basically one of those Will Smith raps where he just describes the premise and events of the movie.

All that sucking up to Trump, wasn’t just a tea party Lewis.
It was a Faustian pact.

You know that right?
A newish (and chilling) feature of British politics has been Starmer/Reeves increasingly pitching themselves as a quasi technocratic govt, saying bond markets will accept no other. If that’s the strategy, my impression is that Labour MPs do not want to hear it.

You seemed quite keen on the fella between 2019 and now. What took you so long? Was your moral compass not pointing true north perhaps?
I commend you to read brothers Hitchens & Perhaps Hesse to reduce your waywardness.
I find the endless, often pointless drama that has typified UK politics coverage for a decade as draining & unedifying as anyone. But, *as of now* & by every relevant measure, Starmer’s position is perilously close to untenable. Of course people are planning for a future where he’s no longer leader.

If BBC News was a hotbed of left-wing wokery producing *systemically* biased coverage Jeremy Corbyn may well have been elected Prime Minister in 2019.

It’s not. He wasn’t.

And we got Boris Johnson instead.
