Absolute carnage in the family group chat as my cousin posts a Christmas riddle from her fiancé’s office that no one can figure out, only to find that someone in the office got ChatGPT to make up the riddle and it’s gibberish that doesn’t have a solution

A post-apocalyptic setting where people are on their way out but are desperate for toys to remember things from’before’ and give the toys more than they could ask for and it ends with us being let go by the toys this time around.

Sniff
The TOY STORY films work best as symbolic of the parent experience - and 4 was surprisingly poignant in that regard, about how parents adjust when the kids leave the house and grow up. But unless TOY STORY 5 is about the toys going into a retirement home, this towel's just about wrung out.

Tony from the top rope!
there's a moment in PARADISE LOST where Satan arrives in Eden and realizes Hell isn't a place; it's a thing he carries within him and it'll follow him wherever he goes. and i think about that when i see these awful rich men whose monstrous wealth has enriched them not at all

The problem is that it was more than 8 who decided on this and likely the entirety of the party.

Vote them all out
Eight Senate Democratic Caucus members broke ranks Sunday and voted to advance a deal to reopen the government.

There are few obvious threads connecting the group who broke the partisan impasse this time.

If they're fine with nuking the ACA expanded subsidies I don't see why they would care about the fallout from SNAP cuts

if you believe Dems that they were never going to cave and leave shit shutdown til x despite being blamed for it, they think politics is over

First time in a full year I've even seen/heard from this particular Senator on anything, and it's a capitulation to Trump.

Who the fck needs an Enabling Act when you have institutional Democrats?

The US Senate is a worthless institution that has, with a few very brief exceptions, been a reactionary force in the US for all its history, holding back progress, holding back the will of the voters, upholding a grossly oligarchic, patriarchal, racist hierarchy. Flush it down the toilet.

The thing about these Democratic leaders is that issues only matter if they are leverage for their next election and they don't give two shits about anything progressive. They'd be perfectly happy fighting over rights to eating soylent green as they would over healthcare costs.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.
