This must be from one of those A-level politics conferences they hold at Methodist Central Hall. In what I fondly recall as a truly pivotal moment in late 1990s politics, I absolutely skewered William Hague over his firing of Shaun Woodward at one of these. I probably cost him the 2001 election.

A request for my train-loving friends: I’m looking for some fun facts about NMBS/SNCB for a short presentation I’m doing in my language class. Entertaining or down-right weird would be most welcome. (I will of course be checking facts before using them.) Off to Trainworld tomorrow for inspiration.

One thing I love about living with a non-native English speaker is their perspective on how I speak English. Yesterday, I was asking about what they were doing for their holidays and for “Christmas proper” and apparently this is super British and cute/hilarious.
