Crazy to think that 80 years ago today, my granddad was in Hong Kong guarding Japanese POWs at the Victoria Barracks-he was only 22, and had travelled to the Far East via ship & Lancaster bomber(!) after working his way to the Kiel Canal from Gold Beach on D-Day 6. Glad we had so much time with him.
