🧹 Time to clean up!

unjs/ofetch ($fetch) v2 (alpha)

- 🌐 ESM-only + Native Web APIs
- 📦 Zero deps (3 → 0)
- 📉 Install: 900 KB → 28 KB
- ⚡️Bundle: 17.4 KB (6.5 KB gz) → 6.3 KB (2.4 KB gz)

More optimizations to come 🤞

We put a lot of muscle—reporting, editing, fact checking, designing, engineering—into this very deep dive on Wikipedia, which is now threatened by Trump, tech billionaires, and AI
The world’s largest encyclopedia became the factual foundation of the web, but now it’s under attack.

we remain independent — and our vision and ethos are not changing 💚

i see two optimistic ways out of this

- the team keeps quietly improving Discover and eventually the clustering gets better, topic model gets better, bugs with "show less" get fixed

- new reddit-like ways to surface content are added which can live outside Discover

ideally i'd like to see both
Communities are one way of generating and curating content. Algorithms are a way of surfacing content.

Which is why Reddits one-liner trivial algos worked so well. Trivial algos work if the content has already been posted, categorized, curated, and ranked.

Nice joke from the coolify installation.

"Today I learned that changing random stuff until your program works is "hacky" and a "bad coding practice" but if you do it fast enough it's "Machine Learning" and pays 4x your current salary."
