LONG RAMBLING EMOTIONAL THREAD:

It's World AIDS Day. Since the Administration has decided to keep it quiet, I'd like to share my introduction to AIDS.

I grew up in Seattle. My mom remarried a man who had a brother who was a King County Sheriff's Deputy. His name was Terry and he was gay. 1/x

"Western civilization," the font, the 11 stars - 11 states in the confederacy, for the record.

Why is this never news? Why are we letting our government agencies do this sort of thing while the news agencies report on hallucinated trade deals and act like everything is normal

The guy shot two random people with a gun, I don't think you can say he wasn't assimilating into our culture
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

Today’s episode of “there is a better way.” Helsinki went a full year without a car-related fatality. For the 90th million time, we ask-why not here? Why can’t we have the healthy, safe, secure, efficient, civilized goods others have: schools free of mass shootings, safe sidewalks, health care…
Helsinki just went a full year without a single traffic death
The capital city is Finnish’ed with car-related fatalities.

Fox guest on how to save money during the holidays:

"Remember, adults don't need gifts. Focus on the people in your life who are aged 3 to 18. Grandma doesn't need slippers. If they don't live by you, don't get them a gift."

I really hope Bill Clinton isn't in the Epstein files, I'll have to get rid of my Bill Clinton hat, my Bill Clinton sneakers, my Bill Clinton cologne, my Bill Clinton watch and take down my Bill Clinton flag and delete my Bill Clinton nft trading cards.
What will I do with my Bill Clinton Bible

Willfully ignoring science - especially in vital areas like health, safety, defense, education, climate, and the economy - is a recipe for disaster. We are crippling our nation by dumbing down our children, just to coddle those who are fearfully insecure in their religious faith.

Could argue the misogyny Summers expressed both publicly while president of Harvard and in emails to Epstein says more about the culture at our most elite institutions than any of the frontpage freakouts over academia in the past few years but hey

I love the whole "I don't have kids in school anymore, I shouldn't have to pay taxes that go to the public school" argument from people.

It's the classic "I got mine, fuck you."

I have no kids.

I never want kids.

Take more of my tax money and put it towards schools and not cops.

Thank you.

I’m from a generation of women who leaned what a blow job was from the president of the USA & who will never look at cigars the same way again. Seriously tho to be a pubescent girl coming of age in the late nineties was wild, in a bad way.
The reason why most women my age couldn't care less if Bill Clinton goes down with the ship is that we were teens & young women when the Anita Hill and Monica Lewinsky scandals happened. It's rotten to the core. All the way down. Your "lost" era is not ours.
Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

Can you imagine a woman of color, say a Black reporter, who was caught in an affair with a Presidential candidate THAT SHE WAS COVERING, getting completely rehabilitated less than a year later with a cushy new job and puff piece profile in the paper of record?

Nope.
