Another buckle came undone. The armor shifted with a quiet scrape of metal. Elanor spoke without looking back, her tone smooth but plain. “Mind your touch. One might assume you intend to continue even after the harness is removed.” Yahsre’s hand froze. Had he leaned in too close? He could feel heat at the back of his neck— mortifyingly obvious, he was sure. She continued without turning. “Or you could simply state your intentions. You want your hands to move beyond the steel.” Yahsre swallowed and forced his fingers to move again, only more clumsy this time. “I— I am just attempting to assist you. Nothing more.” he replied, though the lie caught in his throat. A shift in the corner of their vision caught him. Fray narrowed their eyes, lips quirking in a familiar mix of suspicion and amusement, though they didn’t lift their gaze from the book. “… What are you staring at?” Yahsre leaned closer, candlelight dancing in the reflection of his glasses. “Just curious about the part you’re up to,” he murmured in a casual tone. “Or perhaps foolishly hoping I might catch you looking back at me.” Fray blinked, a sensation blooming deep in their chest— a pressure, like the light of a hearth pressed against their artificial ribs. Though they could not feel warmth themselves, they were certain it would be there now, if possible. “Huh,” they finally replied, a trace of sarcasm at the tip of their tongue. “Bold.” Yahsre allowed the smallest of smiles to linger. “Merely honest.” “You’re awful.” Elanor’s voice hovered just below a shout. “You’re a sly little bastard and you know it but you still—” Fray caught her arm mid-sentence and pulled her in towards them until her ear brushed their lips. “Aye… and you love it,” they whispered, with a poisonous laugh trailing close behind. She hated it. Hated being played with, pushed, provoked by this reckless, grinning fool. Her body moved on instinct, one hand sliding beneath her corset for a hidden knife, the other seizing their throat. Cold steel hovered at the center of Fray’s brow in a flash. “What do you gain from pushing me to the edge?” Her grip tightened, aether crackling between her fingers, enough to choke breath from a being who didn’t need it. “Is this what you want? Always a heartbeat away from dying by my hand?” They laughed, air hitching through whatever bizarre structure served them in place of a windpipe. Their arms hung relaxed at their sides, no defense raised. “I— just think this is when you’re— a-at your most beautiful, so—” Elanor’s eyes flashed wide. The blade snapped past their cheek, slamming into the wall with a vicious thunk. “Really,” she breathed, easing her grip at last, though her glare remained fixed and burning on her target. “you are awful.”

Okay this thought put some brain worms in my head. A quick Sorophia comic.

Sorocan, garbed in an alternative clothing style, sits along the edge of the platform in Solution 9. She's lost herself to her music, or so it would seem. Behind her in a black dress and lace stockings is Sophia, who's telltale smirk oozes satisfaction. "Thought I'd find you here. Your absence at the club has been noted." Sophia began. Startled, Sorocan sits up, turning towards Sophia. "Shit, sorry! I completely lost track of time. We can g-" she begins to apologize. "Too late, sitting down now. We'll just have to stay here." Sophia cuts her off, perching herself down besides Sorocan. Settling in, Sophia begins to quiz Sorocan. "So, whatcha listening to? It must be something good to make you late somewhere." Sophia asks, throwing in a jab at Sorocan. Sheepishly looking off into the distance, Sorocan tries to disarm her barbs. "Oh? Uh, just some stuff I used to listen to a while back. It's nothing major, I was just feeling nostalgic." She says. The camera zooms into Sophia, who has a shrewd look on her face. "Well now I absolutely have to hear. Come on, gimme your headphones." Sophia asks.

The door to the village clinic opens with a ding and a creak. "Dooc! Ya home?" a familiar voice calls out, Gor's distinct vaguely husky voice, with Zero in tow, eyes wandering around the clinic curiously with her stoney expression, the clinic is oddly comforting compared to anywhere within the Void... Some quick steps and Jean approaches, a smile on his face as he adjusts his tie. "Ah! Gor! Tis good to see you! I see you brought an unfamiliar face." "Yeah! She's a friend" Gor smiles, gesturing to the void-born individual "Don't worry, she's not hurt." They continue, knowing Jean would immediately ask if she needed help "I just wanted to show her around." "Which by the way..." her smile fades, eye darting back to the door in confusion" "Where's Sven? I wanted to show her who gave me my goggles..." Gor continued, curiosity and a hint of concern in her tone "It's weird seeing his forge cold and idle."
