The best way to react when someone shows you the game they have been working on for awhile is to blank stare, and say nothing or interesting. This is a quick and assured way to get them to work harder!

Ive been working on this grid shader where it highlights a certain radius around the mouse, and i added a bit of a wave.
What are your thoughts on it? Is it too much? How can i improve it?

I was reworking on my stream overlay and i cant decide which version to go with, what do you think works better? Should i stick to i have it now or switch to the text bubbles? Also which text bubble is better?

Working on a new art style for a game, so i made this shader. What are your thoughts, is it good? I might change the whole art style, but will see.

I was creating thumbnails and accidentally made this version of #Godot. What should we call it?
January 26, 2025 at 4:22 PM
I see too many new developers neglect their naming scheme when writing code. Its very important to learn this early on, so your code is more readable, understandable, and organized. While there are other style guides and conventions these are from the #Godot docs.

I made a cheat sheet if you are new to #Godot, and programming. I see too many new developers ignore these conventions, and soon their code becomes very difficult to maintain. What did i leave out, what else would you recommend to new developers.

Also full tutorial coming tomorrow.

Too many new devs make a mistake of not organizing their projects, and soon they become unmaintainable and they give up. So i made a short tutorial to help new devs. Learn this from the start so u don't build bad habits, because organization is very important

With new GPUs coming up, i am wondering which GPU do gamedevs use? Do any of you plan on upgrading to a new one and which one? I was thinking of upgrading but there is an advantage to sticking with my ancient system.

Here are the answers from yesterdays puzzle. Only one person got all of them correct.

If you have any feedback please let me know.

Do you think you can solve this puzzle? If so post your answers, and come back tomorrow to see if you got them right!

I created this using my puzzle game creator. The game is out soon!

The image gives a clue on what the words are!

What are your thoughts on the new UID change to #Godot?
I made a tutorial explaining what they are, and how to use them.

Concept art for my upcoming quiz game. In the game you have powers, and lifelines to swing the game in your favor.
Liflines are mostly used to get you out of trouble. Powers let you create chaos in the game. Local or Online with friends or solo.

I had this wild idea "What if i added hands to my stream, surely that will be funny and interesting?", and yeah i added hands to my #twitch overlay that i build with #godot. Hopefully this will be a fun and good thing, right? Tell me if i am right! #indiedev #indiegamedev

If indie devs now recreate art styles from older games, i wonder if devs in the future will try to recreate art styles from newer popular games. I guess technology will make it easier. #gaming #indiedev #indiegamedev

Anyone know how to make the eyes not go in the head, they are flat i see tutorials only use spheres can it not be done with flat eyes? I tried shrink-wrap modifier but it also doesn't work.

Is it just me or when you see VBoxContainer you also think VirtualBoxContainer instead of VerticalBoxContainer? #godot #godotengine

What do you think about this rough draft of the Quiz Creator menu? It will be a Scroll Container than contains Rounds, Topics and Questions. They will be nested and you press a button to add more components. Is it too confusing should i redesign it?

It's crazy how they made a play after how long it takes for a new #godot version to arrive.

What happened to native #linux games, as i scroll through steam, i can see that at one point everyone was making native games. Now no one makes them anymore, which is weird since engines like #Godot, #Unity, #Unreal let you directly export to Linux. Wouldn't native be better than #proton?
