A choice between eating and heating isn't really a choice at all.
With food inflation at 4.9% and household bills rising, the most vulnerable are hit hardest. Right here in East Lothian, families are going cold, skipping meals, and living with constant worry.
For families across East Lothian, going cold isn't because their heating is broken—it's because they're forced to make an impossible choice: turn the heating on or put food on the table.
Today at East Lothian Foodbank, our heating's broken 🥶
We're wrapping up warm, hugging our tea mugs, and getting on with the day. It's uncomfortable, but we know it's temporary—tomorrow, the heating will be fixed.
But for too many people we support, this isn't a one-day inconvenience.
Today at the Scotland Demands Better march, we came together to amplify and represent the voices we hear daily. Standing alongside other groups and organisations and being present in our own community is so important to us at East Lothian Foodbank. Let's stand together.Let's demand better.

📣The foodbank will be closed for some of the morning of Friday 3rd of October as we hold our AGM. We will be back open, and running as usual on the Friday from 11:30 am onwards.
