Bravo Harvard! The Trump administration’s unconstitutional attempt to control private universities and repress academic freedom must be vigorously challenged.

"last week, the Department of Justice, which is charged with enforcing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), began to rescind key guidance, justifying the move by suggesting that accessibility is the reason for cost-of-living increases." an enraging but important read by @novicsara.bsky.social:
The US right is coming for disabled people. Here’s why that threatens everyone
Trump’s administration is dismantling disability rights and education. History has shown this can be a warning sign for all civil liberties

We cannot shop our way out of oppression! Many economic activism strategies emphasize personal choices—boycotting a corporation or buying from ethical brands—rather than collective action. This tends to obscure the need for systemic solutions and leaves exploitative structures intact.

We are in terrible shape as a nation when a sixth-grade teacher is ordered to remove signs from her classroom, including one that says “Everyone is welcome here.” No teacher should be punished for making students feel safe.
Idaho Teacher Told To Remove 'Everyone Is Welcome Here' Sign From Classroom
"There are only two opinions on this sign: Everyone is welcome here, or not everyone is welcome here,” argues Sarah Inama, a sixth-grade history teacher.

We reported on this a few days ago, but I want to point out this headline because this is where we are at.

A bill in Arkansas would ban gender affirming HAIRCUTS for transgender youth.

HAIRCUTS.

This is a straight up North Korea state sanctioned hairstyle proposed law for youth.
GOP bill could ban hairdressers from giving gender-nonconforming haircuts to minors - LGBTQ Nation
The bill would allow anyone to sue someone who affirms a young person's transition, and it specifically mentions hairstyles.

“When you allow the rule of law to disappear for one group of people in the country, it will soon disappear for everybody. And then we lose everything we believe the US should stand for.”

As Trump invokes the same statute to justify mass deportations, consider these messages a critical warning.
The US used the Alien Enemies Act to detain their families. Now, they are watching history repeat.
The statute justified the imprisonment in World War II of thousands like Heidi Gurcke Donald. She is horrified as Trump invokes it for mass deportation.

Don’t waste your time arguing with people for whom hate is a recreational sport. These tactics are designed to exhaust, discourage, and divert us from building relationships, organizing, and creating tangible solutions that foster justice and collective care.

Can’t emphasize this enough: if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the debased assault on our country, the antidote is connecting with other people in the flesh who are feeling the same way. There are millions of us.

Appeasing Hitler didn’t work. What’s happening at Columbia University shows that appeasing Trump won’t work either. Despite everything Columbia did last year to shut down protests, the Trump admin. still pulled $400 million is demanding they shut down their Middle Eastern Studies Department.

You can’t believe it?

This is exactly what Project 2025 promised.

This is exactly what 77 million Americans voted for.

Not lower prices but threats to the human dignity, safety, and rights of our neighbors.

What we’re witnessing is NOT normal. The least we can do is admit it.

McBride shot back, calling the chairman "Madam Chairman."

Fireworks erupted, Dems protested, and the hearing was cancelled.

When a politician has…

🚨said “Hitler did some good things”
🚨used Hitler’s rhetoric and Nazi imagery for the past 10 years
🚨appointed as his senior advisor a far-right, Nazi-saluting billionaire

…it’s evident that this politician does NOT actually care about the safety of Jewish people.

✅ Defend the importance of facts—even when it’s difficult or unpopular.

✅ Don't spread false information online. Always consider accuracy before sharing any content.

The most dangerous authoritarian regimes flood the public sphere with so many lies, distortions, and contradictions that people lose their ability--and desire--to distinguish truth and falsehood.

The greatest danger we face is giving up on truth.
