Hegseth isn’t defending his admiral, he’s scapegoating him. He’s shifting the entire weight of an illegal kill order onto a subordinate & framing it as patriotism, so others also fall in line. It’s total cowardice - a political appointee hiding behind a uniformed officer he just fed to the wolves.
