My least favourite Canadian phrase is the snippy 'You're welcome' people after they do someone a courtesy and they do not acknowledge it with a 'Thank you'. A person not saying 'Thank you' may be rude or distracted. A person snipping "You're welcome' is being rude and pathetic.

My fellow Canadians: our relationship with the United States of America is functional. We trade with them because a) they are a wealthy country; b) we want to be a wealthy country, and c) we share an enormous land border with them...and no other country. It has never been about love or friendship.😑

Canada took the tariff crisis like champs. Canadians were even honest about how surprised they were that America would start a trade war with THEM, a mostly White, English speaking, wealthy country with British political and cultural institutions (I.e. part of the Anglo-America clubhouse).
