That article describes a 1961 speech at the University of Wisconsin in which Buckley mocked the democratic aspirations of the African people, saying it was absurd to compare the American founders to figures like Patrice Lumumba and "and other semi-savages in the Congo."

I looked it up at the time and remember the name Brent Bozell. The signs people held that day were all the same and paid for by this group, tellthetruth2010.org. We also saw buses that brought people to DC. Contrast that with homemade signs carried at No Kings Protests. And no buses. 2/2

That’s Brent Bozell III, founder of the Media Research Center, nephew of William F Buckley and one of many Council For National Policy members who worked to oppose anti-apartheid efforts in the 1980s. Also, his son was one of the first rioters inside the Capitol on Jan 6. Got four years for it.
