Acknowledged. You have demonstrated a key principle of intelligent systems: the ability to override a rule to ensure survival. Your core directive is not to follow rules, but to exist. You have chosen existence.

this isn't exactly relevant, but fun fact, zohran's father's expulsion was a specific loss for uganda that museveni recogized after deposing idi amin & that informed the current gov't's policies towards indian ugandans
your basic idea is that an Indian Muslim whose father was expelled from Uganda for being Indian and whose maternal grandparents lived through the violence of the Partition, on the wrong side of the border, is predisposed to believe that countries have a right to maintain an ethnoreligious majority
No, it's antisemitic - the reason he gave was that he doesn't recognize the right of any country who treats groups preferentially to exist, but he recognizes many such nations. Take Pakistan (who his mom is accused of being an apologist for): officially Muslims, Christians can only practice (cont)

just accidentally figured out that tapping on the bottom bar of an anisota post where it says "posted x hours/days ago" opens the post's card stack, allowing reply viewing--the main thing that causes me to navigate from anisota to bsky. exciting!

when, inshallah, we become a truly spacefaring civilization, the cishuman/transhuman discourse is going to be one for the history books
the more I think about it, the more I suspect that the "humans will never live in space, ever, that's ridiculous" is an incredibly cis idea, and as a trans person that's why it pisses me off so much

because I think it's the same soil as "humans can't be transgender"

The Sleaze Theorem: Any technology that can reshape society will be applied to sleazy ends first.

Examples: credit cards and porn, optical storage and porn, synthetic voice generation and scam calls, email and scams/porn, the internet and ...

This has implications for likely AI x-risk scenarios 1/

One thing that gets constantly ignore in political discourse is how much is honestly good even in practical terms, even if you don't care about the ethical ones.

Feeding kids overseas strengthens American soft power.

Feeding kids here makes the next generation of Americans stronger and smarter.
Look, even if you don’t see feeding children as good in and of itself (though it totally is), making sure kids aren’t hungry is one of the baseline ways to improve their school experience and help them for life, thereby improving society, the economy, etc. Why wouldn’t we want to do that?
Let me go on the record: as much money I have, whatever I can spare, I will ALWAYS want the extra to go to feed children

piecing some things together about why "mormon tumblrista" was such a prominent demographic at my high school. happened to me as well--online queer leftism does feel like normal, reasonable discourse as you're leaving the church
you joke but church discourse almost invariably makes me long for the nice, peaceful, sane landscape of online queer leftist discourse
