There is a very real opportunity here, but the window is narrow to help your company and the industry.

Through the FedRAMP 20x project there is an opportunity for someone to directly address this problem. I encourage those who are interested to get involved ASAP.

Someone pointed out that computers are pop culture.

The disdain for historical systems, tape backups, etc.. by DOGE seems to supports this hypothesis.

Thus the wasted time and efforts that we keep repeating.

This is a great intuition for understanding concepts like how the real numbers being uncomputable `almost everywhere`.
You might have heard that something is as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack. But mathematicians struggle to find hay in a haystack.

Not so impressed with QwQ/ollama so far. It sure does produce a lot of intermediate tokens but seems less able to leverage that additional scratch space more effectively than DeepSeek-R1-Distill-Qwen-32B.

18F alum here. While I appreciate the well-deserved attention the 18F team is getting, let's address a fundamental misunderstanding of why 18F was so effective in working with other govt agencies to improve their digital services and why starting a consulting company is not a substitute. 1/
If you worked for 18F and got fired, Group together to start a consulting company.

It’s just a matter of time before DOGE needs you to fix the mess they inevitably create.

They will have to hire your company as a contractor to fix it. But on your terms.

I’m happy to invest and/or help

18F was doing exactly the type of work that DOGE claims to want – yet we were eliminated shortly after midnight. Read our letter to the American people:

If you needed proof that DOGE is either incompetent or is not targeting effective, efficient government systems, the destruction of 18f is direct, incontrovertible proof.

Thank you President Zelenskyy for standing up against the cowardly attempt by Vance and Trump to aggrandize themselves by belittling you. As an American, thank you for not capitulating to their embarrassing and un-statesman like behavior.

In an era where politicians stick their finger in the wind, and leverage fear and doubt to protect their interests and fragile egos, this video of real courage and passion for others by the late John Lewis is a good reminder of what a true patriot is.

Cleaning out some old papers I found this from about 10 years ago. A good reminder that those of you trying to implement Agentic AI should probably dust off your copy of Russell & Norvig.

Techno-determinism is baked into corporate AI educational materials. Eg. Google's course suggests hallucinations are solvable w/ > data, > regularizing, > human-given context and constraints. That's false logic. Hallucinations are inherent. Improving these 4 areas will make them less recognizable.

@nessyhill.bsky.social If you are willing to answer, did your attention wars series end that opportunity, or was it something you shared knowing the end was near? I assume the former, and that this site will most likely move to that model, steering behavior for financial gains. It was brilliant.
