I think we have a lot of parents with profoundly disabled children who do not receive sufficient support for their kids' needs and I am so incredibly sad that their has left them vulnerable to hucksters who sell them only lies.

After completing my practice exam for the LICSW, it concerns me that whoever wrote the exam material hasn't worked in the field for some time.
That or they believe that there are always enough clinic/specialists/resources that are easy to engage with.

During an assessment I had a intern (not mine, a colleagues) tell me: "We learned that patient centric practice requires us to let the patient chose how they want to do it."
That's true, but him wanting to murder everyone that wronged him is not a healthy or ethical therapeutic approach.

That interesting thing about non-clinicians/lay-people using "therapy speak" is that they only use it for personal gain,often incorrectly.
A good therapist is using those affirmations/validations to build rapport so that it can be used to help the patient grow, which often requires challenging them
