This is both A) incredibly suspicious, and B) within what I would accept as normal levels of government incompetence.

So, you know, we'll see how the judge takes it.
An interesting tidbit in the joint status report filed in the Broadview ICE facility case today:

ICE says video from inside the facility "between October 19, 2025, and October 31, 2025, has been irretrievably destroyed" and can't be produced in discovery.

It appears Magistrate Judge Laura McNally has arrived for the morning's inspection, along with a team of attorneys.

"Hold them accountable!" A protestor yells repeatedly.

"They had a week to clean things up, remember that!" Another says through a megaphone.

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

I hope in the months and years after we can uncover what has gone in at Broadview. And we can continue to collect the stories of those that have been there.
Speculation is that ICE could be trying to move people out to clean the holding cells and to set up cots to comply with the latest judicial order to address inhumane conditions inside the facility. The judge is currently scheduled to inspect the facility Thursday morning.

If you don’t know, immigration attorneys have been sounding alarms that ICE appears to be using frequent shuffles between detention centers to exhaust migrant detainees, separate them family and their attorneys, wear them down and get them to sign “voluntary” deport papers.

It’s a torture tactic.
