Voting by post as an emigrant is so weird because I keep seeing Italians talking about going to vote on the 8th and 9th of June and I had to only open my post sitting on my bed, draw five Xs (all yes's because I'm not an awful person) and then drop it into the letterbox round the corner. Wild

Finished my first tapestry crochet project!!!

Obviously there's issues (not sure what happened to the heart), but I'm soo proud of how it turned out!

The journal was a simple listing of everyone who was at church each day and where they sat. Reading through it — all the volumes of it, and there were several already — it told the story of Havewend, of who came and left the schools, of how religious each family was, of who were friends with whom, and who avoided whom. You could tell when September came by, because all the names of students from St Martian were back, one or two pews behind when they were the year before, the first ones occupied by new names completely. You could tell christenings, for a woman would not show for two or three weeks, settling after having the baby and then her name and a new one would show up in the journal. You could tell deaths, for one day one of the students from St Martian stopped being recorded, and I still remember when I realised that everyone was saying it was a mystery how he’d fallen into the river to deign his tomb of a cross. You can tell a lot if you keep track of things.

Just finished making the hopefully final design for our stretch project in school. Look at it
A design for a bodysuit. At the top of the page is a quote by Daniel Mallory Ortberg that reads "as my friend Julian puts it. Only half jokingly: "God blessed me by making me transsexual for the same reason Gab made weath but not bread, and fruit but not wine, so that humanity might share in the act of creation". The bodysuit is white with very close together gray lines. Over the legs, one of which is cut off, is a pair of weath stalks. At the center back is a loaf of bread scored to make a cross. Over the hips and shoulders are bunches of grapes. From the center of the chest wine droplets drop to a cup on the crotch. All of this is drawn in a linocut style. Over the right half of the chest is God's hand from the Creation of Adam, but in high contrast black and white. On the left side is a photo of some white paper being ripped to show black paper with the words "God blessed me by making me transsexual" written hastily in white. Both of these end under a photo of a pair of stone angel wings that are on the back. The sleeves are patterned with a repetition of a photo of ripped up and crunched pieces of paper that have lines from the original quote hastily written on them.

How long till the goat burns? ✨

In case anyone doesn't know this is based on the 'Gävlebocken', also known as the Swedish Yule Goat. A giant straw goat that is NOT traditionally supposed to be burned or destroyed! However, since 1966, only 16 have survived 🙃

Book 1 doesn't have any snow despite being January, book 4 will have some. The British characters are fine with it, Ness in particular loves it, and the characters from warmer climates want to kill themselves because it's sold
