It can't be overstated how much more dangerous the world becomes with multiple new nuclear armed states, any one of which could be overcome by local fascists. Yet this is exactly what will happen as a result of the largest nuclear state having been overcome by them.

Perhaps the most fundamental NEW feature of both fediverse and Bluesky is the availabiliy of parallel, alternative moderation policies. Fedi does it via server policies, Bluesky via composability. Either model frees participants to be more proactive than a single centralized policy would allow.
