Degenerate levels of random football knowledge but mostly the Vikings

I asked ESPN Research and they asked Elias Sports Bureau and they looked back as far as they could (to 1978) and it would appear Jalen Hurts is the first player to ever commit two turnovers in one play. Isn't history beautiful?

Is that good?

Dallas Turner roasted Tunsil and then Tunsil grabbed him around the collar to stop him in his tracks and it wasn't called on the play with the Ertz injury.

Justin Jefferson with two catches on three targets for 11 yards and a mile wide grin on the sidelines, you love to see it.

Love to see the full field progression from McCarthy on that TD.

Ok on the replay maybe it was a decoy play the whole way with the shoulder fake.

Harrison Smith was the Tampa player in that coverage and he intercepted a pass at the numbers. That's kind of nuts lol

We really haven't gotten to see the Vikings' defense play with a lead this year. The blitzing has already been awesome, but I think we're seeing what the Vikings could have been in terms of turnovers because Washington is forced to push the ball downfield.

Can't believe just lining up and running zero still works for the Vikings' defense
December 7, 2025 at 7:05 PM
Can't wait for JJ McCarthy' passing statline to look good but he still ends up with negative EPA/play somehow because he keeps taking sacks.

19 plays is the most plays in a drive the Vikings have had at least 2000, Per stathead. It ties a 19-play drive 2008 against the Carolina Panthers. They also hit 19 plays in a drive 2003 against the Bears.

Justin Jefferson is HUNGRY
December 7, 2025 at 6:43 PM
Seemed like bad ball handling on that snap when McCarthy pitched to Jones. Timing felt off.
December 7, 2025 at 6:42 PM
Gotta throw the ball away there if you're McCarthy. Bad to take a sack running out of bounds.

Fantastic job on second down by the Vikings so far today. Really great that they've mostly avoided 3rd down so far
December 7, 2025 at 6:36 PM
I don't know why Daniels didn't release the throw right away. He had Coleman open for sure
December 7, 2025 at 6:24 PM
Jay Ward at outside corner? Weird. He definitely was in the wrong on that big completion.
December 7, 2025 at 6:15 PM
I liked going empty and spreading the defense out to get McCarthy and underneath completion on that second down.

Despite how the season has turned sideways, there have been bright spots. @friesfootball.bsky.social looks at Dallas Turner's recent success to see if that improvement is real

Has Dallas Turned the Corner?
There hasn’t been much to be happy about during the Minnesota Vikings’ four-game losing streak, but one of the silver linings has been second-year edge rusher Dallas Turner.

Arif (questionably) let me include a triple entendre in the title of my latest article where I investigated whether or not Dallas Turner is good now.

Check it out!

Jalen Nailor is a better tackler than Isaiah Rodgers

It is insane to me that, week after week, no one in this secondary can tackle

Brosmer simply missed two open throws on that drive
November 30, 2025 at 9:38 PM
It looks like Max Brosmer will likely make his first NFL start, with JJ McCarthy is in concussion protocol.

Brosmer has been receiving "Brock Purdy" whispers since preseason. Will he be able to outplay McCarthy?

I went to the tape for my latest for Wide Left:

Will Max Brosmer Outperform J.J. McCarthy?
Matt Fries looks at the biggest problems in J.J. McCarthy's play so far and compares them to Max Brosmer's skillset to see if Brosmer might actually be more prepared to play against the Seahawks
