I really liked a certain way a certain fanfic ended ("Forgotten Sun" by @dapperlilarts.bsky.social) cough.
I really like the idea that recruitment posters depicting Sunset still exist somewhere and ponies keep wondering who that orange unicorn is.
It took long to make this and it tested my patience.
A poster presenting a line of royal guard ponies holding large shields forming a wall. Behind them is an orange unicorn donning white paladin armor, this is the captain of the royal guard. On the background there is the figure of Princess Twilight holding/casting what seems to be pure light, she is wearing a simple blue dress and the entirety of the elements of harmony. Further back is Queen Luna and Queen Celestia, each holding and amulet of their respective celestial body. Light emits from both. ## The letters were a real challenge, i haven't written in freehand since so long but this required some classy handmade letters. Not the best but i think they look gode. #I had a few other slogans but this one was simpler and shorter so it disguised my lack of knowledge about graphic design. Another one was "Be the wall that keeps the dark out" but i am not sure they would reference the Umbrum so directly. ## I totally made Luna's fur way lighter than it was, i painted her first and looked at reference once i began with Celestia so it was a bit late. At the end i wasn't up to making Luna all over again. I guess i was thinking of EG's Luna. ## This took so long and the scale of this project showed clearly the limits of my phone, if it weren't so comfy to draw in bed i would probably never attempt something of this scale on this weak ahh device again. (i still love it) #Also i am sure there are more efficient ways to paint this but i still have so much to learn ## It doesn't show but the royal guard armor doesn't have the side hip plates Sunset's has, but it ended up looking pretty samey if not for the color. I have to broaden my armor horizons.
