In 1932, the Soviet Union utilized food shortages as a means of coercion against the Soviet Ukrainian population. Called the Holodomor, it was a man-made famine used for political purposes, much like what Republicans in Congress are getting ready to do to fellow Americans.

Missing our sweet Sophie doodle like crazy. We put her to rest a couple days ago. Our third family dog, she lived to nearly 15 and it’s never nearly enough when you love a dog 💔

I baked Canyon Ranch oatmeal cookies as “politics therapy” but the real joy came from packing them for our son’s flight and the 2 year old granddaughter’s yums of sheer delight. 🍪

my favorite robert redford story is that mike nichols considered him for dustin hoffman's part in THE GRADUATE. during their conversation nichols asked redford something like, "have you ever struck out with a girl?" and redford's response was basically, "i don't understand the question"

I can understand the anguish from losing someone you looked up to politically.

What sits wrong with me now is that we see none of that from some of the same people whenever children are murdered in school. Maybe we all agree it should all end

This afternoon, in addition to Charlie Kirk, there was a school shooting. Bullets don't know and don't care if you are a Republican or Democrat. It is time for Republicans and Democrats to find a way to work together to reduce gun violence.

Today, this chapter of the Weimar Republic’s history should be revisited. At a moment in which democracy is backsliding in places as varied as Hungary, India, Turkey, and the United States, it is a reminder that democracy often erodes slowly at first, via the gradual surrender of those entrusted..

I need you to understand that if you heard a song you liked in the 80s, you couldn’t Shazam it. You couldn’t Google the lyrics. You had to sing it to the guy at Tower Records.

Do what makes you happy.

Visited my local library to find my book, Carrying My Father’s Torch, next to my most recent read, @InaGarten ‘s wonderful memoir.

The world is in a frenzy.
Stepping away to do what makes you happy is more nourishing and necessary than ever.

Do what makes you happy.

I *am* a constitutional scholar and you are correct.
