Had the pleasure of doing the cover art for Kai Tave's new Lancer release. If you want to know what's kind of my platonic aesthetic for mecha, you're looking at it. Had fun designing the kind of generic grunt you could imagine beating up Everests for their lunch money, wish I got to do it more.
It's still 11pm on the west coast. happy birthday!

Thanks! Not this time, but an intrepid commissioner who shares my vision and desire to draw my take on the remaining Everest patterns.

Will Dicta Striker actually do something this week? No, she'll continue to just stand there and aura farm.

(Also hello again Blacky Ale I've missed you)

In this week's podcast, I explain why I was unable to attend the Fall Tenno Sho during my trip in Japan.

I have a great deal of affection for the AC5 trailer. I think it encapsulates when Project Aces started getting *very* good at cutting this particular style of trailer that's become a signature of the franchise ever since.

I plan on continuing with a truncated NG+ to show some alternate options, but worth noting my old-style screenshot Let's Play of an obscure fan-translated JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fangame that began on Cohost has hit end credits of a full playthrough. Read it!

Fucking wild ass couple of episodes I missed while I was in Japan. Faithfully adapting their real careers has made CG a lot less formulaic than most sports anime in a way I really enjoy. It's cool watching the show try to win you over with the other competitors.

Haha glad someone recognized those. Nintendo store was charming enough but that was the only thing that was reasonably affordable, small, and novel.

lol I honestly wasn't planning on any uma purchases but when I saw her I knew I had to get it. Thanks, had a great time, hoping to put the lessons I learnt to use next time.

Now that I've unpacked I can post the japan haul. Ironically, the injection machine kit is the only thing I bought from the Gundam Base. It was a coinflip between Tamamo Cross or Liger Tail but in the end I decided to go with the Osakan, in honor of the city that showed me the best time in Japan.

That's a wrap on japan. Had a wonderful time, definitely learned a lot for next time. There definitely has to be a next time.

Gotta hand it to Kansai, Tokyo lowkey kinda mid? Only in comparison to the rest of Japan though. In spite of the crowds, the madness of shibuya station, and my family's maladies, we still made the best of it. There's so much to do, didn't cross off even a third of my tokyo list. I have to come back.

Hakone leg of the trip was also partially curtailed but it's such a beautiful place you can't really be mad about just chilling all day.
