Can the #Trump Administration ban states from regulating #AI by executive order after the effort couldn’t get through Congress? No, it cannot. Even red state attorneys general would likely get in on the act to fight this. Check out my latest on @legalafmtn.bsky.social. youtu.be/bd4ifdFCfhU?...

The Trump admin is systematically firing immigration judges across the country for no reason other their above average grant rates.

The goal is to transform an imperfect system which aimed for fairness into a rubber stamp mill, leaving only the “deportation judges” they want.
BREAKING NYT:

The Trump admin just fired eight immigration judges in New York City.

All the judges were dismissed from the immigration offices at 26 Federal Plaza — a building that houses the NYC headquarters of ICE and has become the epicenter of migrant arrests in the city.

This is happening across the entire country; prosecutions are down because federal agents are rounding up migrants instead.
NEW: President Trump has repeatedly threatened to bring federal agents, or even soldiers, to San Francisco to battle crime. His administration has actually done the opposite, quietly taking federal law enforcement away from the city to do immigration work instead.

Officials in Congress and the Pentagon are increasingly concerned that the Trump administration intends to scapegoat the military officer who directed U.S. forces to kill two survivors of a targeted strike on suspected drug smugglers in Latin America.

As Congress vows accountability, the Trump administration emphasized it was a top military commander — not the defense secretary — who directed the engagement.

Besides displaying Trump’s stunning hypocrisy, openness to fulsome flattery, and indifference to serious US drug enforcement, the case of the now pardoned ex-president of Honduras shows how we should be going after drug organizations: extradition requests & criminal process, not bombing them to bits

Trump says we need to go after drug cartels.

Meanwhile, he disbanded a DOJ task force that took them on.

And he pardoned a former Honduran president convicted of drug trafficking.

Trump doesn't care about drugs — he wants to be able to declare war on anyone he labels an enemy.

It's a power grab.

Trump: I don’t know that happened and Pete said he did not even know what people were talking about. I wouldn’t have wanted a second strike. The first strike was very lethal. It was fine.
