Perhaps, a new way to make movies can be tried? Sort of like crowdfunding... premises can be proposed by big studios... people can pre-buy tickets... if enough are sold, the movie gets made... the more sold, the bigger the budget for the movie... if a threshold isn't met, fans get refunds. 🤷‍♀️

It would be nice for Lucasfilm to show that characters need not die to be redeemed... but since an apparent death occurred, I think there are ways to proceed and make it canonically significant, interesting and satisfying.
