There are two easy ways to fix the problem with the High Street... and it's not rocket science.

- Keep the shops open till mid-evening
- Make parking free or cheap

(Forget the buses, most people will not use them.)

There you go, fixed it for ya.

Betfred has said it would close all 1,287 of its high street betting shops if Reeves raised taxes on the gambling industry. The company behind William Hill, also said last month it was considering closing up to 200 betting shops.

What you’re witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.

This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.
