i forgot the other awesome thing about it which is that it actually has an adjustable stabilizer unlike almost every other ww1 plane so flying it doesn't wear you out lmfao. also, some of the best visibility
the bristol fighter was a super dark horse candidate for a favorite ww1 plane because but honestly it's great. it can do reconnaissance and attack, but it also has great wing loading, power loading and climb to beat out any light scoutplanes, tough as bricks and can dive at crazy speeds

wahhh i think im abusing terminology here. i think the brits at the time called what we call fighters "scouts" and called two seat reconnaissance planes capable of defending themselves "fighters"? because obviously...
i'm actually sort of stunned by how decent the bristol fighter is as a fighter. i mean, i know it's in the name but it's a scoutplane. it's got a gunner. it's a pretty good attack plane, too. but what i mean is it can climb as fast as a fokker d.vii which is an unequivocally good fighter

the nieuport 28 is just a good plane so im not sure what to say about it. not the best, but doesn't feel lacking in any way? climbs okay. turns okay. pretty fast. it handles well in a dive. visibility is better than i expected. the guns are good but i wish they had more bullets. the handling is easy

the pfalz d.xii is like... um... shockingly not bad? like, i'm not going to say it's great, but i had kind of written pfalz off as just a manufacturer of shit planes. the d.xii can really do crazy stuff in a dive. unfortunately it cant really do much of anything in a climb

playing with my new tuoys. the fokker dr.viii flies not quite like how i'd expect. not worse but different. i expected that with the low drag configuration it would be a killer in dives. it's not so much that. its real strength is an absurd climb rate. still an energy fighter
