Hi BlueSky-ers! 👋🏻 I’m a new recruit and wanted to introduce myself. I’m a Lecturer at Macquarie University 🇦🇺. My research interests are in forensic psychology, specifically eyewitness attention & memory, jury decision-making, and wrongful convictions. Hope to speak virtually soon! 😁
Really proud of all three of you for giving such excellent talks! 😊
Last week, three of our lab members - Queeneth, James and Sami - presented their research on the @mqpsy.bsky.social undergraduate research conference (hosted by student societies). They all did an exceptional job! 🌟

Super proud of my students - Dora and Alicia - on their grant success! I remember receiving this grant as a student. It led to an awesome string of projects and a publication with the most wonderful collaborators (who I now also get to call dear friends) 😊
Kicking off our BlueSky posting with some good news! 🎉

Congrats to lab members Dora Zhang and @aormond95.bsky.social, who were awarded a collaborative research grant from the Society of Australasian Social Psychologists. They will look at how culture affects perceptions of sexual harassment.

I’ve never presented in a fancier room than this! It was great fun talking about a review we have been tirelessly working on as to how eyewitness researchers report on their coding schemes. Preliminary data suggests inconsistency and sometimes a lack of transparency. Paper and recommendations coming
Excited to see this systematic review getting presented at @officialsarmac.bsky.social by lead author @hayleycullen.bsky.social which talks about the importance of transparency & clarity in coding schemes of eyewitness memory research. Paper coming soon!

Many thanks to Corey Wolven from the New South Wales Police Force for inviting me to a screening of “Prima Facie”, a play written by Suzie Miller showing the harrowing journey of a sexual assault victim survivor as they navigate the legal process.

One of my favourite things that happened this week is that one of my students, who spent 3 weeks over Easter at a dig at Vindolanda Roman Fort in Northumberland, sent me an email FULL of photos of all their small finds. So nice to be able to connect with students and see them living their best life
