I recently learned that Sega ported a lot of their games (Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter, etc.) to Windows in the 90s. Well, I tactically acquired a few copies and have been trying them out on my old Gateway 2000 with a Pentium II, and they're actually pretty good! Basically souped up Saturn ports.

Finally watched Saturday Night and I wasn't quite expecting "Milton Berle whips out his dick" to be in the script.

Pluribus fucking crashed AppleTV.

I had five fucking minutes left in episode 1!

Here’s the small collection of budget retro graphics cards I’ve accumulated from estate sales lmao. A mix of ISA, VLB, PCI, and AGP.

(Two Voodoo 3 2000s and a Radeon 9800 Pro are not pictured here because they’re actually being used.)

Weird how Tate McRae keeps releasing that one song she does over and over again.

I can’t believe I never knew that the classic DOS game Descent has a hidden 640x480 mode.

This is the Electronic Arts I grew up with…

Dev teams were small enough to get individual acknowledgment on the box art.

Gross. Fuck EA. Hope they go out of business.
It’s official: EA is going private.

The leveraged buyout will be financed by a staggering $20 billion of debt, which likely means some *aggressive* cost cutting is ahead for EA in the coming months and years.

The 3DO I recently bought took up the last space in my setup so I kind of feel like I’m done with the retro consoles.

I feel like I should focus on growing my YouTube channel, but have no idea what kind of content to make. I’m thinking maybe sort 3-5 minute reviews, but have no idea if that’d fly.

I can’t believe I never knew Wolfenstein 3D on 3DO was basically a badass remaster of the original PC game.

New addition to my retro collection

I have a small collection of Superbit DVDs and I’ve always loved this bit on the back of them. That asterisk after the bit about doubling the bitrate is clearly doing some heavy lifting.

Hit up an estate sale over the weekend and found two Voodoo 3 2000s for $10 each. PCI but whatever. Both seem to work fine.

Time to see how Halo runs on a PC with half the OG Xbox’s horsepower 😈

Oh WOW. I’ve avoided Amy Poehler’s podcast #GoodHang until now because I thought it was a wildly racist show about executions. I was WAY off.

Been thinking of streaming some old DOS games from the 486, but can't figure out how to get the 70Hz VGA signal converted for a 60Hz HDMI capture device. I have figured out a workaround with the Pentium II, though, so I'll probably use that instead.

Got the final upgrade for the 486. A Dreamblaster S2 wavetable chip for the PicoGUS!
