In many ways this is the widest ban on trans healthcare yet. In some states Catholic Church-run healthcare systems are over 40% of all healthcare.

This ban also applies to the many doctors, urgent cares and specialists in the church's sprawling networks. And they're buying up/taking over more.
U.S. Catholic bishops recently banned trans care throughout the church's sprawling healthcare systems.

@davidforbes.bsky.social delves into how this fits the institution's long history of hatred and abuse, a direction that has not changed despite its recent p.r. shifts.

thinking more about this: it is highly ironic that at the same time that it serves as a test case for the "unitary executive," this administration is all but being led by two subordinate officials with no immediate political accountability.

Taking "rapid" out of "rapid transit." Over 20% of @chicagocta.bsky.social usable rail length is classified as being in a slow zone. Capital funding is next big transit challenge to tackle. Accelerating I-290 (Eisenhower/Congress) roadway/transit project addresses ~1/4 of the slow zone trackage.
The T’s dedication to slow zone removal has led to pretty dramatic ridership improvements. It’s a model that should be emulated elsewhere.

All eyes on the Honduran elections.

Trump endorsed Tito Asfura and will pardon a member of his party, narco-dictator Juan Orlando Hernandez, extradited to the US in 2022 for working w/ El Chapo. JOH was elected in 2017 in an election deemed fraudulent by international observers and even the US DOJ.

Exactly! It’s where I started hormones, where I met trans people for the first time, and did trans activism. Mizzou’s LGBTQ center meant the world to me when I was there
Feels really significant that the Trump admin is making a concerted effort to force colleges to undo policies that made campus safe and accessible for trans people, because for so many trans people college is the first place they ever get to be themselves.
I'm not reading this tonight but in case you care
