I heard about the passing of Rebecca Heineman due to aggressive lung cancer. She was known for porting Wolfenstein 3D to the Apple Macintosh and the Panasonic 3DO. (Labeled as Mac Family versions)

Given how blown up the GZDoom situation has gotten in recent times, I am reminded of that one time I showed NUTS.WAD on GZDoom which averaged between 28-48FPS (on an i9-10850K which goes up to 5.20GHz) compared to other ports running it without breaking a sweat. I got that comment for it. :P

Having woken up to hear the news, I'd say good riddance to Graf Zahl. From forcing unneeded texture filtering to being a "salty member" to breaking code with untested AI generated code. It's no wonder why I jokingly use NUTS.WAD as the benchmark testing ground. Best of luck to UZDoom.
Major evolution in the GZDoom community tonight - the regular contributors finally had enough of the project lead, who had been very hard to work with for a long time. He dug in and told them "If you don't like it, go and make your own fork."

The short version: the Gzdoom team has finally had enough of Graf Zhal's shit (including but not limited to pushing AI code into Gzdoom).
