recently, my extended family celebrated a wedding. (i could not attend).

the battle between the drunks and codependents for most bothersome, narcissistic bloviation rages.

my immediate family has eaten our hoard of cheese popcorn and nachos.

my evergreen, tragic, absurdist writing treasure-trove.

sometimes middle-age kicks you and your spouse really hard in the shins and you’re offline for a few weeks….

(i plan to use bluesky to keep myself honest with several writing and other projects. barring additional kicks to the shins, i’ll be back next week).

after 30+ years of staring at screens and jittery hands from illness, i can’t take pictures in focus for shit. i’ll add a profile picture after i figure out how to take a picture that isn’t embarrassingly blurry. stay tuned….

i’ve been a parts-of-speech dork for a few decades—learning how to think about (and use) spanish compound prepositions and adverbial phrases is as exciting to me as it would be for most of us to get a sizable and surprise bonus check. i should probably go outside more too.

i’m not always so stuffy or stiff with my writing. i was performing for those same cats. yes, they’re still asleep.

I’m not sure how or where this conversation with them will end, but my cats seemed fascinated by my describing to them my learning a language more inflected than English but with not as many vowel combinations or sounds (Spanish). As I iterated my points, these cats fell asleep quickly….
