Tuesday night’s results didn’t erase the exhaustion. They didn’t solve the crises facing our country. But they reminded me that the fatigue so many of us feel is not the same as failure. It’s evidence of effort — proof that we’ve been showing up.

The United States may have lost in golf, but the deeper loss is cultural: a climate poisoned by hostility, misogyny, and bad faith. Until we collectively make this kind of behavior, socially unacceptable, nothing will change.
