The Empress of Austria (aka King Ludwig's cousin Sissi) and Sir Richard Burton played hooky from the Tournament of Wits and Might to seek the Sunken Library of Atlantis in Castle Falkenstein. Our Intrepid Heroes were charged with their safe return. #CastleFalkenstein #FateAccelerated

The PCs kept heroically busy at King Ludwig's Tournament of Wits & Might last night 1) stopping alchemical pyrotechnics from raining fire down on VIPs; 2) solving a mystery of missing jewels via cleaning automata Dust Bunnies; 3) seducing Sir Richard Burton. #CastleFalkenstein #FateAccelerated

Last week, our heroes captured a Wild Hunt rider sent by the Adversary at the Iron Chancellor’s behest, securing a year-and-a-day reprieve. Now granted asylum in Bayern by King Ludwig, they begin exploring their new home—the legendary Castle Falkenstein. #CastleFalkenstein #FateAccelerated

Our heroes paid a faerie toll with a tragic tale of love lost, complete with musical accompaniment on tinkered instruments. The session ended with “Cardinal” Valerie the Master Thief of the World Crime League sealing Wojtek the Best Bareknuckle Boxer in All of Warsaw in a cage with Mistress Trapper.

As if they weren't fugitive enough, last night the Castle Falkenstein players recovered a satchel containing the secret blueprints for a sky fortress that could tip the scales in favor of the Prussians. Can they get to Bayern before the Wild Hunt catches up to them?

I've grown to love writing random encounter tables for the players to roll or pick from. Just reading the entries helps build the world. I guiltily admit to using gen AI to help with this one.

I don't write much about the other campaign I'm GMing, which is Pathfinder 2e. The main reason for this is that I'm running the Kingmaker Adventure Path and I don't want to spoil the module. But: I SO much prefer Pathfinder to 5e. Every time I learn a new rule, I'm like "This makes SO MUCH SENSE."

The Castle Falkenstein PCs didn't disappoint. They stole a steam lorry from a farmer -- spectacularly blowing up his windmill in the process -- then stopped for dinner in a crowded beer hall. They were fingered when their wanted posters started scrolling on the clackerboard display while they dined.

Last session our Fate Accelerated Castle Falkenstein heroes stole the Iron Chancellor's personal zeppelin and bailed before it exploded into flames. I wonder what kind of mischief they'll get into this week?

I keep misreading headlines about artificial intelligence and thinking to myself "What is @alyankovic.bsky.social up to this time?

The friends I play FlickFleet with love the game but we prefer collaborative play so I invented a new faction that threatens all of known space. We play tested it yesterday. The black poker chips represent the Shadows, enigmatic xenos that pop out of hyperspace to suck space ships into the void.

My favorite space combat game these days is FlickFleet from Eurydice Games. It's billed as a dexterity game -- you move and shoot by flicking game pieces and dice -- but it has a lot of satisfying tactical decision making. eurydicegames.co.uk/games/flickf...

I remember coming out of the IRT station at the Junction in Flatbush and seeing a young Chuck Schumer shaking hands and talking with as many people as he could. Where is that fire now?

Now that I've discovered Pathfinder 2e it's hard to play 5e. I just want to tell everyone about the 3-action economy and the 4 degrees of success. Have I joined a cult?

My Monday night Pathfinder group again one-shotted my scary antagonist, here a wounded storm giant who still had a lot of fight left in him. One of the things I'm grooving on is how the players are lining up synergies (spell buffs, flanking) to build critical hits. This is fun crunch.

We had the first planning session for our Fate (Accelerated) of Castle Falkenstein last night. The players are motoring that steam conveyance like they nicked it.

I'm several sessions in on a new campaign with my Monday night group. It's a triple threat of NEW, since I'm new to Pathfinder, new to running modules, and new to the Foundry VTT. Every session we're having THAT'S SO COOL moments about one of those aspects, which reminds me why I love this hobby.

Speaking of Secrets of Cats in Imperial Rome, here's a Shaper who succeeded with style.

My other campaign is the Kingmaker Adventure Path for PF 2e. It begins at a banquet where players use the Influence Subsystem to win allies. A player had the great idea to PbP in a Discord channel. It resulted in a much richer scene than we could have done in a live session. Multimodal FTW!

Congrats to the Murder Mavens -- Astrid, Marjorie, and Mildred -- who bravely pitted their little dinghy against a mega yacht to stop the Midwives of the Fragrant Void from summoning the demigod Scylla to unleash hell on Earth!

My Brindlewood Bay campaign should be finishing up tomorrow night. I think I'm going to sell them on Castle Falkenstein using a light Fate Accelerated hack. Perhaps I'll even get to use my new monogram wax stamp somewhere down the line...

The SoC in Imperial Rome is my Fate Accelerated hack of Richard Bellingham's Secrets of Cats, inspired by Cthulhu Invictus by Chad Bowser et alia. Here are the pregens. drive.google.com/file/d/16ler...

I've been running my Secrets of Cats in Imperial Rome scenario for the Friday group as a filler between DMs. I haven't run much FATE lately. I forgot what a tight and fun system it is, and that excitement when players really lean into the system. Also, the FATE SRD rocks. fate-srd.com

It seems fitting that my first Bluesky post is about how I deleted my FB and Instagram accounts today. They certainly didn't make it easy, burying it in an unintuitive click path, but that's par for the course, right? Anyways, onward and upward, my Bluesky friends!
