Final Destination: Bloodlines is such a fun time, my heart really warmed seeing Tony Todd one more time.

I finished my first play through of Disco Elysium today. And then I watched Possession (1981) for the first time. And it felt like a perfect double bill.

Allow me to bitch about something no one but me & some people watching @netflix.com care about for a second.

I loved THE DEVIL'S PLAN S1. Really difficult gameplay for really smart people & a dog fight of a triumphant finish.

Season 2 is...not that. A fun, smart gameshow has been ruined. How? /1

OK, this is wild.

In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them.

It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*.

What the HELL?

Creatives in the UK deserve strong trade unions that represent their interests and fight for a better creative ecology. We don't have that yet and I know a lot of people have felt let down by the society of authors, but we can change it for the better.
The Society of Authors needs to change. But it won’t without you.

Join – or rejoin – as a Full Member by Wednesday 30th April to vote in this year’s Management Committee elections.

Writers, translators & illustrators face huge challenges right now… (1/5)

Every climate justice writer belongs in their union.

The Society of Authors claims to be committed to sustainability. But climate justice is about more than sustainable sources of paper – it’s about power. In calling for individual authors to hold their publishers to account, the SoA is… [1]

Every writer against genocide belongs in their union.

The Society of Authors does not stand for a free Palestine. Not yet.

Amid Israel’s destruction of libraries, bookshops, printing presses and publishing houses in Gaza, the SoA’s lack of solidarity is driving members to leave the union. [1]

Megathread of pro-trans petitions on Parliament’s petition website. If Labour suddenly gets hit with debates for a bunch of pro-trans petitions, maybe they’ll realise this issue isn’t going away and they’ve fucked up.

I’ll add more as I find them.

I love stories where each new perspective unpeels everything you thought you knew and Hirokazu Kore-eda's Monster does that masterfully. Such an achingly beautiful film that treats its characters with immense sensitivity.

Watched Nickel Boys at the weekend. It really took my breath away, this is the kind of art that sets me off, beautiful, moving, so damn smart, every second on screen has a thought behind it, nothing is extraneous it's just pure art on every level.

Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop was a bittersweet joy to read. I felt like I could be reading about myself and my friends, the concerns haunting the characters were all too familiar. I wish I had this bookshop in my neighbourhood, seems like a rad place to hang out.
