It’s me! Although my messaging was more like “heredity is for people who belong”.
The Sesame Street clips about “one of these things is not like the other” were weirdly upsetting for me as a kid — I didn’t understand why until I was looking backwards with middle-aged, fog-free lenses. 🥚

I’m wondering how many other people displaced and hidden from their natal origins grew up like me thinking “heredity is for other people” 🥚
a lot of people with no experience of living in the fun house that is #adoption might not be aware that it’s close to a norm for doctors to treat an adoptee’s “family medical history unknown” as “no family medical history.”
So, magically, I had no hereditary risk factors to contend with as a kid!

I am so thrilled to be part of a growing #adoptee community here.. these are the spaces I know I belong..: a feeling that is fleeting for adoptees .. esp when our adoptors deny us our truth..

Hi everyone.
The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.
We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.
We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.
I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.

The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy
The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.

My invitation remains open to all #adopted, displaced, trafficked, stolen, bought-and-sold people—anyone who accepts (not necessarily happily) the designation “adoptee”—to be added to my starter pack. Just let me know!

Here's my favorite ad from "The Methodist Babies Home"- the place where I resided from birth to 2 months. I wasn't a slum baby. I was relinquished because I was inconvenient. Held in limbo and completely broken by the time I was finally adopted out. Silent.
