Well, that sucked. Hell of a game, though. Hell of a series.
A rare Saturday off, so spent the morning the best way I know how: shopping at Eastern Market, having a drink at Detroit City Distillery, and now home putting things away while listening to @wdet.bsky.social and Ann Delisi.b
If it can't be my Tigers, let's go Jays!
Great interview with JV Jones. Been a fan of hers since the Book of Words days, and really hope to be able to read Endlords soon.
“I once saw a post online placing bets on who would likely deliver their book first (George R.R. Martin, Patrick Rothfuss or yours truly). I had the longest odds.” Interview with @grimdarkmagazine.bsky.social www.grimdarkmagazine.com/interview-wi... @torbooks.bsky.social @orbitbooksuk.bsky.social

Remember when the same folks who support masked secret police kidnapping people off the street for their skin color decried mask mandates by private property owners as tyranny?
CoPilot is the laughingstock with all of my coworkers where I work . It's basically just one more needless click to get to our email after logging in to Outlook. I don't know a single person who uses it on a day-to-day basis
Rolling Stones "Wild Horses" is playing, and I'm sitting at a bar. Vacation level is 100%.
Thanks for reposting this. I forgot to buy all the Vanguard books when you first posted. Done now! Thanks for the reminder!

It’s not a chilling effect. It would only be chilling if you had something horrid to say, and you don’t, do you? Certainly nothing critical of the regime, and absolutely no paraphrasing, not of anyone, not at this time!

Detroit hasn’t struggled like that in Green Bay since the White Stripes played a scarcely attended gig at Concert Cafe in 98.

To hell with this
Orson Welles’ THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS will be reconstructed by AI.

Missing scenes will be re-shot w/ the actors' faces + voices recreated by an Amazon-backed company.

“We hope this gives people a sense of a positive contribution AI can make for storytelling."

This really, really sucks.
AMERICAN EXPERIENCE — which has produced 400 documentaries for PBS since 1988 — has suspended production and laid off its staff.

“It didn’t have to be true crime or romance or celebrity profile. It was history for the sake of telling history."

Twitter is owned by a neo-Nazi, the LA Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal are owned by pro-Trump billionaires, and CBS News will soon be run by a far-right Likud extremist. American media still has a liberal bias problem.

Also, no. The Dept of War was something entirely different — it was just the Army. There was a separate Dept of the Navy. (Also, it was never an agency.) The DoD brought together both and added the Air Force and the structure of the Joint Chiefs.

This tweet is wrong in a bunch of ways that matter.
President Trump will sign an executive order on Friday renaming the Department of Defense the Department of War, the name the agency held until shortly after World War II, the White House said.
