Anyone who thinks that the study of how money is invested, saved, created and spent is not a science, is an ignorant fool. There is no other human activity that is as inherently quantifiable - because, you know, it's money.

Is it any surprise that a government department is making shady deals, when it is headed by a man that was caught taking a bag full of cash for a bribe?
jsnyder000.bsky.social
I have been listening to it quite a bit. Wonderful album.

If this is true, then she is a genius! Look what sucking up to Trump got Argentina.

Any got plans for a week from tomorrow? We should all get together!

I can't wait until we all go back to shaking our heads and, according to our nature, either chuckling or swearing when we hear this kind of nut-case idiocy.

Beautiful! It's so hard to do that without flare or other lens artifacts. Good job.

It is disheartening to think that there is any question of the need for religious communities to speak out about gun violence.

So, it is fine for him to write a brutally bleak assessment of his own family and background, but Black women need to "shut up if you can't say something nice."

He is an arrogant hypocrite.

No, it's not funny at all. But it is ridiculous.

I'm not even a fan, but I love Actually Romantic and Father Figure. Both songs cut through the bullshit with cleverness and humor. If she keeps it up, she may make a Swiftie out of this old man!

Just curious: what were the profits on this fire sale?

There are lots explanations for Trump's attack on our cities, none of them good.
1. Distraction from real issues - economy, Constitutional violations, Epstein, corruption, the shutdown
2. Deranged idiocy - "I saw it on Fox TV"
3. Getting us accustomed to his plans for election interference.

Come up with a simple message and reduce it to a punchy slogan. Start and finish every interview and speech with it. Maybe:

"The Republicans are stealing from you to give to the rich, and lying to you about it."

This invites questions about how they are stealing and what lies they are telling.

No, Dave, it isn't. But we are trying to catch up.
jsnyder000.bsky.social
I agree, but how about leading with the fact that Republicans have refused to negotiate at all, or that they are lying about benefits for undocumented aliens? And use the word "lie". It's perfectly acceptable when you are, in fact, referring to a lie. In other words, fire up! Be angry. Be adamant.

I have no idea how the spam link was attached to my comment. If I can figure out how to report it, I will.

Mid? He was an Army captain wasn't he. That's a company grade officer. The middle level of Army officers is field grade (major through colonel).

I don't recall cheering at a meeting or formation unless it was a patriotic event (or they had just announced a commander's holiday).

News outlets view Trump's bizarre, unfocused ramblings as "just Trump being Trump" and try to find the few bits of coherent, policy-oriented speech to report. This creates a false impression of his competence. Reporters are so reluctant to make value judgments that they miss the real story.

Watching the national news stories on the military leadership meeting, you wouldn't have any idea that Trump rambled on aimlessly for an hour. All you get is the 15 seconds of terrible "policy" on sending troops into our cities.

When you start out crazy, your continuing decline isn't news.
jsnyder000.bsky.social
You had me right up to "They aren't."

A large number of people will believe the lie, and an even larger group won't care if it is a lie because it "sounds about right" to them. Never assume any given person is stupid, or any large group of them isn't.

This is shameful. He is the same man that he was when they hired him.

Truly Orwellian, in the most literal sense. There is no need for a Ministry of Truth when an entire political movement is based in the "newspeak" of propaganda, half truths and outright lies.
