Back from Spain to +9 and rain. ‘Tis a sad time when you accidentally rhyme.
What’s it like inside your head?
Still busy. As a holidaying bee. 🐝

The wind blows where it wants, Erik Desmazières, 1989.
Been quiet as I’ve been busy. Busy being on holiday. Still got a while to go. It’s not much, but it’s honest work.
Back when I was trying to get assessed I was put on several waiting lists, then got an appt by self-paying. 1 year after I was assessed I get a phone call from one of the waitlists asking me if I wanted an appt in a years’ time. Two years for an appt if you can’t afford €600 out of pocket is WILD.
I usually find some comfort in my routine after the chaos of a holiday, but I have kids in school so my routine is to a large extent rigid and set externally. I find external routines far easier to follow than ones I set for myself… But I hate having someone else to answer to. Just AuDHD things? 😇
I’ve always been amused by the whole “it takes 30 days for a routine to become a habit” because I have had routines which I have still had to put effort into maintaining two years down the line AND I would drop them without even noticing if so much as a week of illness interrupted the routine 😂
This week was pure chaos so barely any time was had to draw non-work stuff. I scratched at this when my brain needed a reset. Marbel acrylic markers in my white as snow American sketchbook. #art #inktober #sketchbook
Work’s been busy lately so here’s a happy little guy I’m working on for a Christmas card. (In case you’d wondered why I’d been doing raccoon studies…) #art #digitalart #illustration
One of the great things about having ME/CFS with comorbid anxiety disorder is that on the days you feel good and have the energy to do things you’re constantly wringing your hands worrying about whether or not you’ll overdo it and what if you DO burn out and maybe you should stop but etc. 😶‍🌫️
More Inktober stuff. The first one is ink and pencils and the second is acrylic marker but since I’m not following any rules these year these also count 😇 #inktober #art #sketchbook
It’s the other way around: your art is still yours, but since he copyrighted the name “Inktober” artists aren’t allowed to use the name for commercial reasons. What this means is that you can’t, for example, sell prints for your Inktober art and label them as “Inktober art” to advertise them.
Inktober without a prompt list, day 2. Yes, I like trees! Amsterdam acrylic inks and dip pen. I bought this sketchbook in London, it’s from Stillman & Brin, an American company. The paper is smooth but still a bit textured and is as white an as American pop star’s teeth. #art #inktober
Some right old plums in my grocery bag this morning…
Doing Inktober my way, meaning: just inking anything I feel like, when I have the time. Feeltober? Freetober? Help me with naming this Bluesky people!

A study after Albrecht Dürer, dip pen and ink.

Inspired by Inktober I pulled out my late uncle’s pen nib collection and started rummaging. I found a lot of aesthetic nibs but also something which has stumped me… The bottom bit. It looks like a little club. Does any experienced inker have an idea what this is for? #ink #dippen #inktober
Hey, someone has to provide material for those “expectations vs. reality” memes.
On an art-related note, I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to find it what an absolute beast Turner was. Honestly one of the most diverse outputs I’ve ever seen. Legend.
